Your GDML CoE was cancelled because you held a Confirmation of Enrolment for the BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) (管理研究生文凭(学习方向)) but had not commenced the course before 5 October 2026. Under the Australian Government's change, you cannot start this course, and if the change results in a provider default your education provider must act within 14 days by offering a suitable alternative course that you accept in writing or by refunding your unspent tuition fees. Contact your education provider as soon as possible to confirm what applies to your situation.
Why was my CoE cancelled?
The Australian Government made a legislative instrument under the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 (ESOS Act) to suspend and cancel the CRICOS registration of the BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning), known as the GDML.
From 5 October 2026:
- international students can no longer enrol in or commence the GDML;
- education providers will not issue new Confirmations of Enrolment (CoEs) for the program;
- CoEs for students who have not commenced the GDML by 5 October 2026 are cancelled.
If you had already enrolled in and commenced the GDML before 5 October 2026, you can continue studying and complete the course. Your CoE is cancelled only if you had not started by that date.
The Government identified significant and systemic integrity concerns with the GDML. These relate to enrolment patterns, student transfers, non-commencement, completion outcomes, and possible student visa integrity risks. The action aims to protect international students and safeguard the student visa system.
What should I do first?
Contact your education provider as soon as possible.
Your provider can tell you how the change affects your situation. This is the fastest way to learn which options apply to you.
What is the 14-day provider rule?
If the change results in a provider default, your education provider must act within 14 days. The provider must do one of the following:
- offer you a suitable alternative course that you accept in writing; or
- refund your unspent tuition fees.
These obligations apply when a provider default occurs because of the change. They are not a general entitlement for every cancelled CoE.
What if my GDML was part of a packaged offer?
If the GDML is part of a package of courses but you had not started it, you may be able to continue with the other courses in your package.
Contact your provider to understand how this change affects your study plan. Your provider should discuss your options with you. This may include transferring to another course or receiving a refund of unspent tuition fees.
What if my provider does not meet its obligations?
If your provider does not meet the 14-day obligations, the Tuition Protection Service (TPS) may be able to help you.
Visit the TPS to learn about the support available when a provider default occurs and your provider does not meet its obligations.
Will this affect my Student visa?
Changing your course or study plan may affect your Student visa. Check the Department of Home Affairs website before you change your plans.
If you need advice about your individual circumstances, contact a migration agent registered with MARA.
Where can I find alternative courses?
Use Study Australia's Find a course tool to search current courses and education providers available to international students.
When considering alternatives, look at courses that support your study goals and meet your Student visa requirements, including any relevant Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) level requirements.
